How to Reset Your WordPress Admin Password

Getting locked out of your own website can be frustrating, but don't worry. As a CeylonServers user, you have multiple secure bypass methods to reset or change your administrator password instantly.

Here are the 2 most effective and accurate methods to regain access to your WordPress dashboard.

Method 1: Reset Instantly via "WordPress Manager by Softaculous" (Easiest)

If you completely forgot your password and can't receive recovery emails, you can bypass the login screen entirely directly from your cPanel.

• Log in to your cPanel dashboard.
• Look at the left-hand side dark blue navigation sidebar and click on "WordPress Manager by Softaculous".
• Find your website URL in the list and click the blue "Login" button next to it. This will automatically log you into your WordPress dashboard with full administrator rights—no password required!
• Once inside WordPress, go to Manage Users ➔ Profile on the left menu.

• Scroll down to the Account Management section, click "Set New Password", type your new password, and click "Update Profile" at the bottom.

Method 2: Use the Standard "Lost your password?" Link via Email

If you know the administrator username or email address connected to the account, you can use the built-in WordPress email recovery option.

• Go to your WordPress login page (e.g., https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin).
• Click the link at the bottom that says "Lost your password?".

• Enter your admin username or your registered email address and click "Get New Password".
• Check your inbox (and your spam folder) for a recovery email from CeylonServers. Click the secure link inside that email, type a new password, and save.

Important Security Note:

• Avoid Generic Usernames: When resetting or creating users, never use names like admin or administrator, as they are highly vulnerable to hacking attempts.
• Enable Strong Encryption: If using Method 3, forgetting to select the MD5 function will cause your password to be saved as plain text, and WordPress will reject it during login.
